CBS Outdoor UK hosts ‘All Eyes on London’ conference
CBS Outdoor UK held a conference on 26th April to remind brands and agencies about the value of targeting London audiences through Out-of-Home formats in the capital city. More specifically, the event encouraged media planners to reassess their planning approach to ensure they are up-weighting activity in London, in light of the fact that London is unique in comparison to anywhere else in the UK.
CBS Outdoor UK highlighted the fact that London is an iconic world city and an economic
powerhouse, being number one for fashion and retail, a centre of culture, creativity and innovation and continually prospering ahead of the rest of the UK. As a result, targeting Londoners is essential for brands as they are hyper connected and therefore highly ‘social’ meaning marketing messages go further.
The Evening Standard, a popular London newspaper agrees with the idea that London is totally different to anywhere else in the UK:
“London is now effectively not so much part of Britain as a city state in its own right. In fact it’s so different to the rest of the UK that it’s almost like living in another country”.
The event, attended by brand and agency contacts, included presentations from the CBS Outdoor UK senior management team as well as guest speakers including BBC chief business correspondent Linda Yueh, managing director of London Underground and London Rail Mike Brown, and author, journalist, broadcaster and management consultant Peter York.
