Manchester’s Mancunian Way gets the latest in digital posters
Manchester’s Mancunian Way, one of the busiest urban routes in the North West, has received a roadside upgrade to the latest in Outdoor Advertising technology with the switching-on of a 3m x 12m screen named the Manchester Digital Bridge and erected over the top of the motorway at the Chester Road Underpass. The opportunity uses the very best technology available in the world today and offers brands unrivalled market visibility, dwell time and impact.
This is a continuation of Manchester based MediaCo Outdoor’s investment in a dramatic transformation of the City’s Outdoor Advertising offer. A stringent ‘Less is More’ development policy has resulted in the removal of over one hundred advertising sites on Council owned land and the development of only those location that deliver the very highest level of reach and recall.
A more modern sales approach will give advertisers the flexibility to use MediaCo’s Manchester Digital Bridge to suit their exact requirements, as well as the traditional single poster 2 week buy media space will be made available for bespoke periods including day part segments and multiple copy changes will also be accommodated.
MediaCo Outdoor’s long term exclusive contract with Manchester City Council also includes an arrangement where the Council themselves will utilise the screen for their own community based advertising and emergency messaging making the display even more relevant and engaging.
The Department of Transport estimate over 800,000 people a week use Mancunian Way. The giant LED screen offers advertisers a very attractive, large, premium audience and this is evidenced by launch brands including, Activision, Sky, Vodafone, BT and Jimmy Choo.
In addition to the Manchester Digital Bridge, MediaCo Outdoor’s Manchester opportunities include a portfolio of the best back illuminated Mega 6, 48 and 96 sheet displays in the North West, sites are evenly distributed on all the key arterial routes in and out of the City offering brands real ubiquity and stand out.
MediaCo has recently strengthened its sales operation with the appointment of Taxi Media Commercial Director and former Kinetic Regional Managing Director Richard Blackburn as its first Commercial Director and the appointment of Tony Hurst as Sponsorship Manager in September.
Blackburn said:
"MediaCo’s goal is to create a media portfolio in synergy with Manchester’s profile as a World leading modern city. The audience reach of these displays is commensurate with the displays on the busiest roads in London so it is natural that Manchester should be enhanced with the very best in digital display technology. It is now impossible for advertisers to truly engage with a sizeable Manchester audience without using MediaCo Outdoor”
